KISSS Agriculture moves upwards and outwards by capillary action in the soil and is suited to all soil types.
A special soil test is performed for each site, typically in various locations where soils are known to vary, to determine the capillary lift potential of the soil. The results of these tests determine the depth at which KISSS Agriculture is buried and the flow rate that is specified for each system.
KISSS Agriculture emitters are typically spaced far wider apart than conventional systems because the geotextile moves the water along the line. Conventional SDI emitters are closer together because they have to force water towards the roots.
On a site with differing soil types the absorption rates obviously vary. With a conventional SDI this means that some plants are saturated whilst others remain dry. With KISSS Agriculture the water moves past saturated soil to the drier areas.
Low application rates in precise quantities at precise times and uniform capillary movement means even ‘problem’ soils can have water delivered with extreme efficiency.
The soil area wetted by KISSS Agriculture is typically 300% larger than the typical wetting pattern of a conventional SDI.
KISSS Agriculture is designed to supply an individual plants’ water requirements directly to its root zone at a rate that suits the soil type…and keep it there.
